The Sony Ericsson P990i is the successor cell phone of Sony Ericsson P910i which comes in stylish design with QWERTY keyboard. The P990i is 3G SmartPhone which comes with many of those features required for the present generation. The phone comes in premium silver coloured casing and measures 114 x 57 x 25 mm weighting only 150gms. The colour touch screen displays 262K colours and has high screen resolution of 240 x 320 Pixels. The users can get high quality pictures and videos with the integral 2 megapixel camera with 2.5x zoom, Auto focus and Photo light. The handset is capable of video recording, streaming videos and video clips. Another VGA camera in the front helps the users to have video calls. Being run from Symbian OS, it is also supported by Nexperia PNX4008 ARM9 208 MHz processor manufactured by Philips. The phone is operated by Tri Band Technology (GSM 900, 1800 & 1900) and UMTS.
With this handset, the users can connect the PC with internet with the inbuilt modem features and also they can browse the net in their handset using WAP browser in XHTML format. The Bluetooth feature enables the users to connect to the electronic equipments without wire while t he integral USB feature helps in connecting the electronics with USB cable. The handset also comes with other connectivity features like WLAN 802.11b, GPRS, 3G and Infra Red. The features will never be less in this handset. The users can also have full entertainment with the integral music player and FM radio features. The handset also allows the users to listen to music tones in MP3/AAC format, compose their own ringtones or choose among the available Polyphonic ringtones. The P990i also supports Java and Java game downloads, Voice dialling, Vibrating alert and Flight mode. The users can send their messages using Voice mail feature, SMS, MMS, MMS video, Push Email, Email, SMS Long and Predictive Text.
