hp-laptop-batteryWhen it comes to using a laptop for mobile use, batteries matters. If you use your laptop just in your home or a place where there is an active AC outlet, it is ok to have a battery with less cells. Cells in a lithium ion battery determines the time you can operate a the battery without using external power. The more cells you have the longer it will last, keep in mind lithium ion batteries life deteriorates with age and usage so unless it is absolutely necessary, AC would be the best option. Also unpluging the battery when operating on AC power would be a wise choice. There will come a point when you will need to replace your laptop’s battery. Laptop Battery life also depends on the temperature you operate it in. Lower the temperature, longer the battery life.

I recently bought a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop and I paid a little bit more for a nine cell lithium ion battery, I would have bought a battery with even more cells but that was the max I could find at dell. For mobile use, I think HP laptops would be a great option, they are very light and I feel the hp laptop batteries can handle without external power for a bit longer than the one I got with Dell as they offer a more celled laptop batteries than I found for Dell Vostro. HP offers a max of 12 cell laptop batteries whereas Dell only has nine cells. Now, Hp battery can last upto 15 hours depending on what kind of programs you use. Lithium Ion batteries will be obsolete in the near future as the life time for one is very short. There has been some research on other types of batteries for laptops which will be a lot more efficient than Lithium ion battery.
