There are lots of well established tech blogs out on the web like gizmodo, engadget etc and lots of people follow it. They post the hottest and brand new tech news on their blogs but these subjects are over saturated over the net. There are very few tech blogs that posts articles that are very rare. Gadget Advisor is one of those blogs. You won’t find very many blogs that post these kind of articles. You will only find the best of the best resource on any subject related to technology. All the subjects are handpicked and well researched. You won’t be able to find every bit of tech news that is announced on a daily basis. Only handpicked subjects get on Gadget Advisor. Gadget Advisor is a fairly new tech blog and from the word go, they are publishing quality articles that is very useful.
Logitech’s Harmony universal remote is the best universal remote in my opinion and Gadget Advisor has posted the same information which is derived from their personal experience. They have reviews, latest news and articles on all things tech starting from gadgets, computer hardware, computer softwareand tech news. You can read a great review of online backup services, some free and some paid ones which can be used to backup online you important data instead of just storing it in a hard drive or optical drives.
Everyone uses a firefox browser to surf the web, atleast I think that way as it is the best browser I have used till today. I can’t live without firefox. Google released their new browser called Google Chrome but does not float my boat as it has nothing I need and use. Firefox has extentions which can be used to make your life a lot easy. No other browsers has this options and that makes it the uniquest and the best browser I have encounters till today. Here are the list of the best Firefox extensions according to Gadget Advisor. I do not completely agree though. They could have added some other extentions to their list. They could have added Fast Video Downloader which is a very handy extension to download online videos from sites like YouTube. Check out Gadget Advisor, you might just find some stuffs you have never seen anywhere else on the web.
Everyone who has played a game on a PC knows how important a mouse is. Before we had access to optical mouse, we used to play games using a regular mouse with a trackball inside it. It was not the best mouse as the trackball would get dirty and the response of the mouse declined due to dirty stuck in it.
The optical mouse we use (I mean the basic ones) are not the best available mouse for gaming as the there are fewer buttons in it (right, left and scroll). There are optical mouse available that are specifically designed for PC gamers. Usually, these kind of gaming mouse cost a lot of money so not everyone can afford it and only die hard PC gamers get it even if it is highly priced. Well, here is a good deal for a Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse on Buy.com, costs $21.35 after rebates (rebate form here). At the Logitech’s official store, Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse costs $50 so I think this is a pretty good deal. Ok, here are some specifications for the Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse:
Image Processing: 5.8 megapixels/second
Resolution: 1800-dpi native, adjustable to 400- and 800-dpi
Acceleration: 15-g
Throughput: 16 bit/axis USB data format, and 125/sec USB report rate
Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse is not the best gaming optical mouse available on the market but its not that bad. There are almost nothing bad about this Logitech optical mouse except that it is designed for only right handed users. Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse has 1,600dpi optical sensor with five on-the-fly sensitivity buttons which can be programmed to suite your gaming needs.
iPhone 3G is the newest iPhone launched by Apple. There has been some significant upgrades from the previous iPhone. There are some great new additions and at the same time there are some very mediocrity found in an iPhone. Love it or hate it, iPhone is not what it should be. Still, it is not that bad. There are some stuffs that need changing but apart from that, iPhone is good. I just hope Apple fix all the problems found in an iPhone (both the previous iPhone and the newest iPhone 3G).
Here are some pros and cons found in an iPhone 3G mobile phone:
Pros:
3G, Wi-Fi and GPS
Safari browser and email works great
iPod application is great
Application Store is the best
Seamless integration with iTunes
Lots of multimedia features
A working GPS
Large high quality LCD screen
Onscreen Qwerty Touch keyboard
Cons:
Still no navigation software
Very poor camera application
Poor battery life
Non instinctive menus and settings
2 mega pixel camera without any flash
Fingerprint magnet
Needs 3rd party protective covers for screen and case
We have to pay a fortune to buy an iPhone 3G and it is unfair that Apple hasn’t included other important Smartphone functionality. Talking about battery life, iPhone 3G will support up to 5 hours of talk time on a 3G network and 10 hours on a 2G network. iPhone 3G has a standby time of up to 300 hours. While using the internet on a 3G network, the battery will last up to 5 hours and on a Wi-Fi, it will last up to 6 hours. iPhone 3G’s battery supports up to 7 hours of video playback and up to 24 hours of audio playback.
The brand new iPhone 3G is available in two sizes as its predecessor. An 8GB and 16GB model is available and this time around, iPhone is available in two colors, black and white. White iPhone is only available in 16GB iPhone 3G model. iPhone 3G uses a Flash drive for storage instead of a Hard drive. iPhone 3G works onUMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz) and GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) mobile networks. iPhone 3G can also connect to other devices using Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and a new addition to iPhone, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR.
Here are some of the technical specifications for iPhone 3G:
The price of a New Apple’s iPhone 3G is half the price of the old iPhone. iPhone 3G 8GB costs $200 and iPhone 3G 16GB model costs $300. Price is a lot reasonable than before and this should lead to a lot more sales.
The iPhone, from apple computers, is the company’s first major venture into the mobile phone market and like all other apple products, this phone has also been able to make a place for itself in the market. To put it very simply, the iPhone is the talk of the town and everybody with a big enough pocket, is itching to get his/her hands on one of this beauties. The craze is fully justified as the Apple’s iPhone packs in a whole lot of powerful features along with its sleek design. The interface and design of the phone makes it extremely user-friendly and fun to use as well. The iPhone packs in a host of features and is a very useful, productive as well as fun tool. Although user friendly, the iPhone needs to be set up and configured properly before the user can fully utilize its host of features. Setting up the iPhone is quick and easy, so let us quickly go through the steps for setting up an iPhone.
Install iTunes -
Go to Apple’s website to download the correct version of iTunes for your computer. From this page, select your operating system and begin the download by clicking the download button. Once iTunes has downloaded, find the download file, double click it and follow the on-screen directions. This will install iTunes for you.

PS: I will be writing an article on the New Apple’s iPhone 3G soon.
Its been a long time since I made a post on GPS. Well, I found a good deal on a TomTom GPS navigation system at RadioShack. TomTom has been on the GPS navigation scene for quite some time and they make great navigation system which is practical. TomTom has always prioritized on navigation for vehicle navigation system.
A good deal is there to be had at RadioShack for a TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver. TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver is available only for $99 after rebates. Bare in mind, TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver is refurbished but the price in very reasonable for a TomTom GPS system even though it is a refurbished on. This GPS navigation system is not the best product available in the market as it has been quite some time since it’s release. TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver has a touch screen for easy use while driving and has 1GB of memory. TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver can be mounted on the windshield of any vehicle. TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver has a map of Canada and United Stated ( including Alaska) so you wont ever get lost again in these countries.
If you don’t like this TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver (refurbished) deal and want a first hand GPS navigation system, you might want to search and read all the GPS Reviews you can get your hands on and choose the one that best suites your needs. I checked the GPS Reviewsfound on testfreaks.com and I am quite satisfied with what I read as the reviews I found on GPS navigation systems there were great. TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver is rated at 6.8 out of 10 at testfreaks so as I told you earlier, this is not the best GPS navigation system around. TomTom ONE 3rd Edition GPS Receiver should do the job but there are other great GPS navigation systems around with more functions and extra features. Newer GPS navigation systems are quite expensive so for anyone on a budget should be quite happy with this deal.
Enough of the deal talk, lets see what the Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System is made of. Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System claims to reproduce dialogue, symphonic film soundtracks, explosive gaming audio and subtle ambient sound accurately. Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System is good surround sound system for people who watch movies in their PC as it has a SRS TruSurround HD which immerses you into the movie. It is very easy to install the Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System as it uses a USB port to plug in. The USB plug n play system allows true 24-bit digital quality audio (Pure Digital Fidelity). This surround sound system also includes a head phone jack to listen to musics and movies privately. It also has a input port where you can plug in mp3 players and listen to them. There is also a media center remote control that comes inside the box but this only works in Windows XP Media Center, Windows Vista Home Premium Edition and Windows Vista® Ultimate Edition.
Here are some tech specs for the Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System:
Don’t know when this deal expires so go get one before it does. Shipping is free. The lowest price I found anywhere else is at Buydig which is considerably higher than on buy.com. At Buydig, Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System costs $189.00 + $44.95 shipping charge. So you decide for yourself if its a good deal or not. Personally, I think its a damn good deal. Even without a $60 Mail-in-Rebate, Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System at Buy.com is a great deal.
