bluetooth-laser-virtual-keyboardThis is a nice concept. This concept is a bit futuristic but it is readily available in the market. This laser keyboard is a damn cool looking gadget to use with your computer or cell phones. It is actually a virtual keyboard that is projected by a laser beam on to a desk of any flat surface. An image of a keyboard is projected onto a flat surface which is used as an actual keyboard. It might be a little hard to get used to at first but the device is just too cool. What more, this laser pointer will even simulated the actual keyboard sound when you press a key. The laser keyboard has 63 keys and a QWERTY layout.

bluetooth-laser-virtual-keyboardThe Laser keyboard connects to devices like PDA, smartphone, some mobile phones and computers using bluetooth. You just need to enable bluetooth on those devices and you are ready to start typing using a laser projected virtual keyboard. Approximately 35 x 92 x 25mm (1.38″ x 3.6″ x 1″) in dimension, you can easily carry it around in your pocket. There won’t be any typing problems when sending an email from your smartphone or a PDA anymore, you just need to find a flat spot and start typing. The Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard will work on almost every device. is compatible with and work on all PalmOS 5, PocketPC 2003, Windows Smartphone, Symbian OS mobile operating systems and supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP system. (Drivers are provided). It also works on a MacOS but a driver is not provided.

We were able to get the Bluetooth Virtual Laser Keyboard to work with Mac OSX using the built-in bluetooth support in the OS. However, there is no driver software for Mac included with the keyboard and therefore no way to set the keyboard preferences such as brightness, key-repeat rate and sensitivity. You have been warned!

The Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard costs $150, a bit costly but the wow factor it generates is worth the price. The Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard has an internal battery which will last up to 120 minutes of continuous typing. This is just a mouthwatering gadget. It is available for purchase at ThinkGeek.

    1. I’ve got one of these, it’s so weird to type on. But the handiness factor outweighs the weird feeling.

    2. I also like the red laser effect. Quite a few people will be surprised by seeing this device.

I would like to buy this product but right now, I am out of cash so will have to wait a bit.

    3. It’s cool but still i think it’s going to be too difficult to type on it.

    4. yes this is the thing i had been wanting to get one for so long.

    5. would it decrease my typos?

Wasn’t one of these on a CSI type TV program about two years ago? Might have been ‘Bones’. I remember that a crime suspect had been writing a ’secret blog’ discrediting her employers in the episode, but the ‘Virtual Keyboard’ helped her write it without being detected. Or something. Any takers?

    7. does this Laser Virtual Keyboard work with windows vista. Oh and please tell me what to buy to hook it up to my pc.

    8. I need a virtual synthesizer!
Don’t lose hope! An amazing glimpse of this promised future has just arrived at ThinkGeek in the form of the Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard. This tiny device laser-projects a keyboard on any flat surface… now I can then type away accompanied by simulated key click sounds. It really is true future magic at its best. You’ll be turning heads the moment you pull this baby from your pocket and use it to compose an e-mail on your bluetooth enabled PDA or Cell Phone. With 63 keys and and full size QWERTY layout the Laser Virtual Keyboard can approach typing speeds of a standard keyboard… in a size a little larger than a matchbook.

      Thank you.
