Game servers are becoming more and more popular amongst multiplayer gamers. The favorite games on the online gaming scene has to be Counter-Strike which is actually a mod of a single player campaign driven game called Half-life. First person shooters are very popular in the west but in Asia gamers prefer to play strategy games and one of the popular ones is Warcraft.
There are a lot of hosting providers for game servers and most of them target the market in the United States and Europe so they mainly offer first person shooter multi-player games servers. I have tried to play these kind of games online but haven’t been successful. Maybe thats because I got a cracked version of the game. I don’t know much on online gaming. One of the most used games servers has to be counter-strike: source servers as it is the most popular amongst gamers even though it is very old. It is a classic game and will never be boring, just like Pac-man and Mario. I recently got a cracked version of Call of duty 4- Modern warfare and I tried to play it online on a cod4 game servers but I was unable to. I played the single player campaign of Call of duty 4 and it was a bit different theme from the previous Call of duty versions. All the previous onces had a World War II theme but Call of duty 4 focuses on new wars like in Chechnya. I have just started this game, haven’t completed any campaigns yet. Haven’t played a lot of games lately but I heard that Soldier of Fortune is also a great multi-player game as there are lots of sof2 game servers provided by game server hosting providers. A slot on an games server doesn’t cost that much if you use a private server, it only costs around $0.99. A slot on a public game server costs $1.49. You could also get a dedicated server but it is quite expensive. A good dedicates games server would set you back $150 per month.

Administrators and end-users alike can access their game servers in real-time through the web or even a web-enabled cell phone regardless of the game server’s location, platform or type. SCInterface takes the headaches out of managing large deployments of game servers. Simply put, they provide gaming infrastructures to let the great game artists emerge.
They might be an interesting company for you to keep track of.
