hdtv-antenna-with-j-mountDid you know you could watch free HDTV! I am not talking about subscription HDTV, you don’t have to pay any monthly fee to watch HDTV. All you need is a HDTV with a built-in digital tuner or a HDTV ready TV with an external digital tuner and a hd tv antenna. HDTV antennas can be bought at cheap prices so the only problem would be the HDTV with a built-in digital tuner (ATSC tuner) and you could be watching free high definition channels for free. Most major TV networks broadcasts high definition channels and there will be no problem receiving their signal. A channel master CM4228 HDTV Antenna has a great reception and can work even if the broadcast station is upto 60 miles away, but its a bit costly and looks a bit bulky. You can also find some cheap HDTV antenna’s like the winegard PR-9014 which would cost you $30. There are other cheaper antennas but most of them are indoor antennas. An outdoor antenna will always perform better than an indoor one so you should invest a couple of bucks more and get an outdoor HDTV antenna like the one I mentioned about Winegard.

You will also need a shielded 72ohm coaxial cable, enough to connect your rooftop antenna to you HDTV receiver or a HDTV. That’s all you need to watch free HDTV without paying monthly subscription fee to the cable providers. Setup the HDTV antenna in your roof, connect the cables and thats it. Oh and don’t forget to ground your antenna to prevent your HDTV equipment from electrical surges. You will need to adjust the antenna to get the best reception. You are now ready to watch high definition TV.
